(Arzignano, Vicenza, Italy). There are seven ILSA products on the FiBL and FederBio Italian Input List ( https://italy.inputs.eu/product-search.html ) published on 30 March 2020.

The Italian Input List is public and can be accessed free of charge by organic farmers, inspection and certification bodies, authorities, manufacturers of inputs and any interested parties. Certified organic farmers can check the list for the farm inputs that have been found to be compliant with respect to the relevant EU and national legislation and also with regards to additional criteria that consider the characteristics and needs of Italian organic agriculture.

The Italian Input List is part of the European Input List which includes also other national lists for Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Austria and Croatia. This means that the products included in the Italian Input List are automatically included in the European Input List. The list currently includes a total of almost 50 products. All of the products that ILSA presented for evaluation (seven in total) have been found compliant.

The evaluation criteria relate, on the one hand, to compliance with the EU organic legislation (Reg. (EC) 889/2008) and on the other hand to relevant national legislation (Legislative Decree 75/2010) with reference to the marketing of fertilizers allowed in organic farming (composition, classification, labelling, inclusion in the register of organic fertilizers of the Mipaaf). Additional criteria applied have been defined by FiBL and FederBio together.

The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) is one of the world’s leading institutes in the field of organic agriculture with locations in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France and a representation in Brussels (Belgium) through FiBL Europe.  ILSA has been in contact with FiBL for many years in regarding the marketing process of its products in German-speaking countries. The inclusion of ILSA products will add an extra layer of reassurance for farmers when it comes to the consistency of Ilsa formulations with regards to organic farming rules, the most sustainable, controlled and certified agricultural model.

The 56 percent of Ilsa fertilisers and 52 percent of its biostimulants have been found compliant with organic farming rules by several certification bodies. These products are often used by farmers working in conventional agriculture, increasing the overall sustainability of their production.

The inclusion of the seven products in the Italian Input List is an important recognition of ILSA’s eco-sustainable approach in the production of natural fertilizers and biostimulants for organic farming. The list of all the Ilsa’s inputs for organic farming is available on the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies’s website SIAN - Sistema Informativo Agricolo Nazionalehttps://www.sian.it/vismiko/jsp/indexConsultazione.do ).
